This is a hibiscus that I captured at the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido, CA, which is a part of the San Diego Zoo. This flowers bright colors and the fact that it was all by itself is what fascinated me about this scene. Even though I take photos of the animals at the zoos of course, I find the flowers to be just as interesting as well.
Art is something that has fascinated me since I was a little girl. When I was maybe about eight or nine, my dad saw me drawing one time, and then the next day my parents had signed me up for art classes. Those lessons have allowed my artistic talent to grow over the years, and I am grateful to have had a chance to discover this talent at such a young age. For a few years I was only accustomed to drawing with pencils, and occasionally colored pencils. Later on I started experimenting more with painting. I have enjoyed using acrylic paints for many years. I still enjoy using pencils and acrylics but I have also been stepping out with other mediums as well such as graphite pencils, soft and oil pastels, and watercolors. I love drawing...
