I painted this as a Father's Day gift for my dad. I actually had been working on it for quite a while and decided to finish it up and make it a gift for him.
the inspiration for this painting was a trip we took to Hawaii together a few years ago. They have the most beautiful sun rises and we always got up early just to see them on our trip. I thought it was about time that I make a painting inspired by our trip together. I hope you guys enjoy it, and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Art is something that has fascinated me since I was a little girl. When I was maybe about eight or nine, my dad saw me drawing one time, and then the next day my parents had signed me up for art classes. Those lessons have allowed my artistic talent to grow over the years, and I am grateful to have had a chance to discover this talent at such a young age. For a few years I was only accustomed to drawing with pencils, and occasionally colored pencils. Later on I started experimenting more with painting. I have enjoyed using acrylic paints for many years. I still enjoy using pencils and acrylics but I have also been stepping out with other mediums as well such as graphite pencils, soft and oil pastels, and watercolors. I love drawing...
